Have deleted all 60 pending new accounts. Their usernames looked rather like all the other spammer names. Sorry if there was one or the other legit user hiding among them.

Damn - that was one particularly vicious attack! Would it help to put something on the daysailer.org site alerting potential new forum members that they may have been deleted? Or would that just attract more spammers?

Most of the registrations had clear indicators that they were spammers, and I kept one registration where I couldn't tell. The names that real people use are just different from "generic" ones favored by spammers. (Some spammers can't help picking Russian/Slavic patterns in their names, that's a dead give away ).

And the latest wave isn't over...

Don't give up - can't let those rat bastards win! ;-P
