Hey all:

Winter doldrums are here. With the first snow of the season on the ground I'm doubting that I'll get my boat out for a maiden voyage this year. (Unless I want to do that New Year's Day regatta I was invited to. Hmmm...haven't yet installed the icebreaker option.)

So please tell me - what are your favorite sailing videos or DVDs? I'm talking instruction videos, race videos, boat-show videos, anything with small DS type boats in them. Hell, I'd even go for how-to-fiberglass videos, how-to-make-sails videos. Since I'm in this for the long run I might as well start amassing a collection.

Thanks in advance,
Carlos

Don't know about those, but the movies "Wind" and "White Squall" are pretty good for getting pumped up about sailing. At least they were when I was a Sea Scout. Haven't watched either in a while.

My Uncle, who is Australian, send my dad and I some videos of Australian 18 foot skiff racing. It is like watching NASCAR on the water. They have on board/helmet cameras and everything! If the Olympic sailing had that kind of excitment, it would be one of the most watched sports on. They are cool, but hard to find in this country. If you can find some pick them up. They are exciting.
