Salish 100 completed in a Daysailer 2

Postby WeekEnder » Sun Aug 03, 2025 9:49 pm

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to share my recent success with my Daysailer, having completed the Salish 100 this past week. I slept aboard in the cuddy most nights. Two nights were at anchor, 4 nights tied up at a marina, one night beached on the western point of Blake Island.

The boat was exceptionally well-suited for sailing the Puget Sound. For those who do not know, the Salish 100 is a cruise in company from Olympia, WA to Port Townsend. Daisy was fast, reliable, handled superbly in light wind and heavier airs, including a blow north of Foulweather Bluff with significant chop.

Our little boats are quite capable of being great camp cruisers! Happy to answer any questions or comments; the forum says all of my photos are too big to upload. For now, the only one that's working is this great shot of running down the Dana Passage with the whisker pole out.

Happy sailing all!3203
