Just replaced my oem shrouds with 1/8" shrouds and Ronstan turnbuckles. The only problem is that the pins are bigger on the new turnbuckles Any suggestions as to where I can get replacement chain plates that are drilled for ¼”pins. Or should I just open the existing chain plates with my ¼” bit? Also has anyone ever upgraded to airfoil spreaders?

I've also upgraded to new shrouds, but did not have the chainplate problem.
Yes, I have installed the airfoil spreaders. Got them from Cap Cod Builders when the old round stock spreaders broke. They work fine, and are far less fragil than the old.
Have a good season.

I just replaced my shrouds as well, going up to 1/8"ss. The pin holes on the stem head were already a 1/4" but on the chain plates were only 3/16' so I just used my 1/4" bit to ream it out to the right size. There was lots of metal above the new hole so there was no concern about weakening the plate.

This is a late response but replace the chainplates with those available from DR Marine. They are already the 1/4 inch you need, and I have seen horror stories about the original ones breaking from fatigue. For this second reason I do not recomend reaming out the stock ones. If you did, it is cheap insurance to replace them.
