When I bought my boat , the current owner had bought it from a friend and never used it in 7 years
hey I have some life jackets do you want them?
Why sure , I got 7 or 8 brand new jackets and a brand new cushion.
Hey want an anchor? why sure!!
want some rope ? I got 50 ft of 3/8 and 50 ft 1/4 nylon
Hey want a paddle? why sure....
They guy kept bringing out stuff and it was all new..

Then when were done with the deal. The guy says
Hey I just remembered out in the back I have the motor for that!
do you want it??
aaaah gee let me think well ok.
So I got a 4 hp johnson that still had the paint on the prop.
( and it had gas in it for the last 7 years)
got it running and it runs good. Pushes the boat real nice.

so heres the next question.

I just clamped it to the transom and off we went.
Should I mount some type of board on the transom?
I really only go a 100 yards off shore to put up the sails , I usually sail into the beach .
The transom doesn't flex when I use the motor and it doesn't seem to have any problems.

Sounds like you really scored with the accessories.

IMO I would reenforce the mounting area. Just in case you do need to power her up in an emergency or your along way from the dock with no wind. Oh, and don’t forget water skiing  Brad

I don't think I'll be skiing any time soon from my DS2
BUT maybe I'll attach the aqua plane on a windy day and see if it will pull it.

heres a few videos of surfing wakeboarding behind a sailboat
