As you correctly assumed the Oday letters are blue, and the flag is red. The background of the lower tag is blue with the recessed letters white.
I removed my reflective gold boot stripe with a razor blade (window paint scraper). It peeled off easy once I got it going. I replaced it with a white 5 strip automotive decaling tape, but you can also buy automotive reflective goldy tape at your local automotive shop.
Now getting it on straight was a different story. I learned half way through the second strip to use long arms length pulls on the tape, anchor the end, and 'eye' it on from the tape roll about a yard away from your other hand which is applying the tape. Hard to put into words but imagine applying the tape from left to right. Your left hand is holding the first inch of the tape in the proper position. Your right hand is near your right ear, your head is about 10 inches from the surface of the boat and you are looking at your left hand at arms length down the tape to where it attaches. Now walk backwards applying tape with your left hand as you go. The right hand is only keeping it in line with your eye. As the tape looks like it is in the right position, move your right hand away from your ear, keeping the tape taut, and just touching the boat, so that it sticks, as you move back press with your left hand. This avoids the short crooked application like I did on the first side. If it looks good from 10', you've done well.
