New Neil Pryde Sails

Postby jdubes » Thu Jul 23, 2009 8:06 am

I just purchased a complete set of Neil Pryde sails from Rudy at DR Marine. I have to say, i'm very please with them. I've used them probably 10 times already and the boat seems much more reponsive to tweaks and trim movements to make it faster. The other fact that i'm very pleased with is the ability to call up a vendor and get sails without a 3-6 week wait. I called all the major players along with some local sail shops in MA. And if DR Marine didn't have them in stock, my weeknight racing activities would have come to a major stop.

I, too, have a set of Neil Pryde sails through D&R, and I agree that they are very good. Can't beat the price either. Also, if you contact NP directly you'll find a very friendly and helpful staff!

Ditto !!

I have used Neil Pryde sails on 3 different sailboats I have owned over the years and have nothing but good comments to say about them. Great sails, well made, and priced right. Brad

Did you by chance also contact Intensity Sails to see if they had sails in stock?

The last Neil Pryde sails I had were for windsurfers. I wasn't racing so they seemed great. The good thing about having a DaySailer is that people are willing to stock the sails. …and, willing to order enough of them to bring the price down. Neil Pryde sails are made in China so if they weren't premade it would take a while to get them. My last boat was an 18 foot Newport Whitecap and needed sails. Neil Pryde sails were $1700 for a set and it would take 3-4 weeks to get them. Also, that's a price from at least 2 years ago.

Wow, that is quite a switch from what we paid for ours ($570 for the set) for the DSI. Were yours racing sails? How much square footage?
