We have a condo in Brewster, and I'll probably keep the boat on the trailer at least for this season. I'm hoping to sail in Pleasant Bay (Orleans/Chatham), in CC Bay from some of the beach launches in Brewster or Orleans, some of the many ponds in the area like Long Pond in Harwich, and probably Wellfleet Harbor, although the launch ramp there is scary steep!

Wellfleet is a nice place for a shallow-draft boat. In fact, one of the main reasons I bought the DS was how much my teenage daughter enjoyed sailing a little catboat we rented in Wellfleet. Do you have a mooring there?

Take care,
Mark

Wellfleet Harbor

The Wellfleet town peer has been under construction for the last year. It's made it pretty noisy at our place which is right opposite the end of peer. However, one of the good things they did was to repair the boat launch. It is still steep but it's not as scary as it used to be.

I don't have a mooring, as I am not actually waterfront. I think one of my neighbors would be willing to lend me one, though. A couple of my neighbors that used to use their moorings, have not been doing so in the last couple of years.

I think that this year I'm going to leave the Daysailer up on Winnapisaukee, though. I have use of my neighbors catboat in Wellfleet. And yes, shallow draft is a very handy feature in Wellfleet Harbor!

I'm curious to see how long it's going to take to rig and un-rig the Daysailer. I'd like to trailer sail some, because of being able to sail in a variety of places. However, I found my other boat to be a pain to set up and take down and it ended up that I didn't do that much trailering. I just found it easier to keep it at the dock up in New Hampshire. Of course, the problem with that is getting up to use it.
